The target audience I am aiming for mainly the 16-27 year old male and female middle class population and upper middle class. These are found in in these statistics from Pearl & Dean by the blue columns in graphs on the far left,
The reason I chose ABC1 and not C2DC is because looking through these graph.more. I’ve realise that middle/upper middle class people watch RomCom films more often and go to the cinema more often. This is my target audience because they stereotypically to be a very social class and many would chose the cinema to see there friends. The C2DC class are less likely to go to the cinema as they may not have much money or free time.

The GAP represents the general audience profile. My general audience profile is teenagers and young adults in general, because they watch more film in general and especially RomCom.
The perfect audience member, is someone between the ages of 16 and 26, either a girl or a boy. Up to date with fashion and also keen to have the newest stuff, wears nice big brands. very up to date with the new crazes , we are not trying to targeting girls or boys, we are going for both genders because this means that this will boost the amount of people who will watch.

The two Films that came out on top where Love Actually and Bridget Jones’s Diary.
I chose this opening because this is one of the most well known Rom Com I know. During the first shots of the opening scene, different ethnicity and gender is displayed. This allows the film to gain a larger audience because it doesn’t present any raised issues of prejudice. The mise en scene plays an important part to the opening scene containing the persona that people put on to impress others, fitting in with the genre of a romantic film. The location is clearly displayed in the opening scene there are yellow taxis, which immediately shows that it is filmed in America, New York is the most likely state of which it is filmed in because formality and wealth is displayed through the characters mise en scene and characteristics, as well as background imagery. This supplies the audience with plenty of information to understand what the film is likely to be about, giving them an insight into the style of which an trust worthy man controls over other men to manage them to success.
Non diegetic sound is instantly played in the opening scene, it is an upbeat song representing the cheerful of the film. it is a song that includes the words love which is fitting for the film . the voices over the music starts with a strong voice of god dialogue as the main feature of sound . There are a lot of eyeline match editing techniques involved in the opening scene, looking into each characters eyes, showing the warmth each of them take to each other. The final shots are of Will Smith meeting the man, give his schedule and showing his occupation to set the film out.
Will Smith enters with such glamour which captivates the audience and instantly allows them to recognise who the main character is. this technique is called ‘breaking the fourth wall’ as Will Smith is looking into the audience, effecting the way they perceive him. The director has also made him use metafiction, which draws attention to himself as a work of art. Will Smith is telling the audience what men want, in the film this is showing woman up because they should expect to know men’s needs, showing the overruling power men are believed to have. The editors use a technique of prevalence on Will Smith, suggesting he is the most important because the camera is directed on him most of the opening scene.
These key screen shot show you tell you something about the film you are about to watch. In the first shot you get an idea of where the characters live or hangout from the screenshot it looks like and everyday suburban house in California. Also gives the impression that Young males live there. This is because it’s not well maintained and then on many flowers and things to make it look nice.
In the next screenshots you can see a man who is the main character with boxing gloves with his mates in the background clapping and laughing at him this this gives the impression that he is the alpha male so to speak and he is one of the leaders of the group of friends.
In the next two screenshots you can see boys fighting on the poolside. The pool does not looked well looked after and very green this gives you two ideas, one there young adults and Don’t worry about it, two there are not able to afford to maintain it.
In the next screenshot you can see the same guy with the boxing gloves but this time there on fire. The shows that didn’t have much health and safety I and there just having fun.
In the last two they’re having lots of fun by showing us that there are on a rollercoaster smoking something in a fishbowl.
we made a mood board where you can props and parts that make a RomCom. for example traveling, airports, bedrooms,proposals and marriages, mistakes and parts that make you laugh. This what most film producers make you thing what Romantic Comedy are like. with the slightly ridiculous pick up lines or the very clumsy male who ends up making a full of him self, also the thoughtful loving gifts that result in marriages. this is what or very similar to most Rom Coms.
this is what we have done because it has helped us with understanding the film makers add titles to the start of a film, this is to make it easier to understand.
